Grateful to Move: A Thanksgiving Reflection on Health, Family, and the Joy of Movement

As Thanksgiving approaches, I find myself reflecting on the many things I'm grateful for—my family, my health, my amazing Freya team…But there’s one thing I’m especially thankful for this year, and that’s the ability to MOVE.

As a physical therapist and as a mom of two energetic boys, I’m constantly on the go. Whether I’m chasing my kids around the house, treating patients, or exercising so I can stay strong enough to keep up with it all, I rely on my body A LOT. And let me tell you: I’m so grateful for it.

Movement is Everything

I think all moms (and most women, honestly) can relate: life can get overwhelming, and our health often takes a back seat. But here’s the thing—I’ve realized that if I want to be there for my boys as they grow, I need to take care of myself now. I want to be able to run around the park with them, play soccer in the backyard, and keep up with their never-ending energy. And, God willing, I can be the grandma who’s out there running around with my grandkids, too! That might seem far off, but I’m laying the foundation now. We can start losing bone mass as early as our 30s, ladies!!! Taking care of my body today is my investment in my future health. I want my future to be filled with energy, mobility, and the ability to enjoy life to the fullest. And to get there, I need to prioritize my health today!!!

A Gratitude Challenge for You (and Me)

So, here’s a little challenge for us both this Thanksgiving season: take a moment every day to reflect on one thing you’re thankful for about your body. Maybe it’s your ability to walk without pain, the strength in your arms that help you carry your kids or groceries, or the energy you have to run around and play. Whatever it is, take a second to appreciate it. And if you can, move a little bit today—stretch, walk, dance, anything that feels good to you.

When we show gratitude for our bodies, we make the decision to take care of them—and that’s something worth celebrating.

At Freya Wellness Co., we’re all about helping women move better, feel stronger, and live life to the fullest. This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful for all the ways my body supports me—and I’m committed to taking care of
