The I Love U (ILU) Massage: A Gentle Relief for Backed Up Bowels

Are you feeling backed up in the GI department and think that your intestines might be a bit sluggish? The I Love U (ILU) massage might be the gentle remedy you're looking for. Bonus –  it's safe for the little ones too!


Step 1: The "I" (5-10 times)

Start just inside your right hip bone. Use gentle but firm pressure as you move up, tracing your path along the right side of your belly until you reach just below your rib cage. This upward journey mimics the letter "I". Repeat this motion 5-10 times.


Step 2: The "L" (5-10 times)

Now, let's add a horizontal element. Repeat Step 1, but this time, move horizontally across your abdomen, stopping just below the left side of your rib cage. You're forming an upside-down letter "L". Do this 5-10 times.


Step 3: The "U" (5-10 times)

Extend the journey down the left side of your body, ending just inside your left hip bone. This completes the "U" shape. Repeat this soothing motion 5-10 times.


Step 4: Circular Motion (Clockwise 5-10 times, Counterclockwise 5-10 times)

Wrap it up with a circular movement. Place the fingers of both hands about 2 inches below your belly button. Apply gentle but firm pressure and make clockwise circles (5-10 times) followed by counterclockwise circles (5-10 times).
